my name is Doug Mangione and I am a long time orange county resident and a 42 year construction tradesman. I have noticed over the years that construction workers are travelling more and more out of orange county and workers from other areas are coming into Orange county contributing to clogged freeways. Leading to long commute hours and more gas burned into the environment. As you contract for more projects any thing you can do to get local residents on those jobs would reap many benefits
My name is Israel Mosqueda and I live in Garden Grove. I am concerned about what municipal leaders are doing to help local residents obtain good paying jobs. The apprenticeship I attended in Santa Ana has little opportunities for people in the area to gain a career in the trade. This can and should be corrected. Members of the board like yourselves have the ability to invest our tax dollars back into the development of the youth in the community as well as its established citizens.
Please consider hiring local workers for your upcoming project, our tax dollars should benefit our community through local jobs which in turn will generate revenue when these workers spend their money in local businesses. Thank you.

Members of the board. my name is Luis Lopez and I reside at 621 W. Wilson st. in the city of Costa Mesa. I've recently been made aware of a plan to construct a new Headquarters bldg. at the OCSD plant near my home. I'm am a State certified Electrician who is unemployed due to the Covid 19 pandemic. Projects like yours are crucial to local residents like myself and my hope is that you insure local residents are considered and prioritized when you award the contracts for such projects. thank you.
